Public Works
New Alexandria Public Works provides a variety of services to borough council and the residents of New Alex.
The department is responsible for the maintenance of the borough’s infrastructure, management of borough’s contract for solid waste and recycling services, drainage maintenance, roadside and landscape maintenance, and public trees.

What We Do
Public Works and Operations consists of the following
- Pothole Repair
- Traffic Sign Repair and Maintenance
- Parks & Recreation Maintenance
- Borough Property Maintenance
- Street Maintenance
- Storm and Sanitary Sewer Maintenance
It’s not uncommon that the borough has to outsource work to private companies. Situations arise that the borough does not have the manpower or logistics to handle. For example, the repaving of streets or storm drain cleaning. In these situations, the borough will bid certain projects out. Timelines for completion are then in the possession of the contractor.
