The New Alexandria Volunteer Fire Department is a volunteer, non-profit Fire Department. They provide 24-hour, seven day a week fire protection and water rescue services to our citizens.
They provide service to New Alexandria Borough, Loyalhanna Township, Salem Township, and Derry Township. The Department is located at 212 Gay Street, New Alexandria, in Westmoreland County. This is about 30 miles east of the city of Pittsburgh.
As a team, the New Alexandria Volunteer Fire Department members strive to minimize losses and suffering. This is accomplished through efficient emergency service delivery, public education and information, and through community service activities. With consistent mandatory training, the staff and crew provide services and treat those served in a manner that is honest, fair, and unbiased. Above all, it is with pride that all members endeavor to uphold the unique camaraderie and trust that is the Fire Service.
The Fire Department plays a large part in community activity. The Annual Town-wide Yard Sale, Halloween Parade and Christmas Tree fundraisers are just a few examples of the civic impact the department has on the borough.
